However, one of the initial challenges for E.ON was to staff the project with people with the right experience and who could be on the long journey. Novion was brought in as sub-project manager after about a year and then contributed strategically, tactically and operationally in several key roles for several years. During the course of the project, system support was developed for the establishment of capacity markets and several live demonstrations were carried out. During the demonstrations, flexibility was called for, which reduced the load on the electricity grid during peak periods. These peak load hours are what drive the need for grid reinforcement and results in great costs to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the project, it was shown that flexibility is a useful tool for dealing with capacity shortage situations, which could also be more economically beneficial as the utilization rate of the electricity network can be improved. The Coordinet project has been followed up by several similar projects, for example Sthlmflex, and it can be concluded in retrospect that it strongly contributed to the development of capacity markets and flexibility services in Sweden.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
